About Nova
I have been teaching chess for eight years, guiding players from complete beginners to competitive tournament participants. My lessons combine theoretical understanding with hands-on application, ensuring that every concept is learned in a way that directly benefits your over-the-board performance. My students have achieved milestones such as tournament victories, rating improvements, and stronger online play. I prioritize creating a supportive, challenging environment where players can ask questions freely, learn from mistakes, and steadily grow their confidence in every aspect of the game. When I’m not teaching, I actively compete in both online and over-the-board events to maintain my competitive edge. This keeps my knowledge of current chess theory and practical techniques fresh, so my students receive instruction grounded in real, modern gameplay.

We begin by exploring opening theory and early-game principles to help you establish strong positions from the very first moves. You’ll learn the importance of piece development, pawn structure, and tempo, ensuring that your openings lead naturally into advantageous mid-game scenarios.
Our training then transitions into tactical vision and strategic planning. Through puzzles, annotated games, and practical exercises, you will recognize recurring patterns, set traps, and defend accurately. This stage builds the mental agility to adapt your strategy based on your opponent’s moves.
Finally, we focus on endgame mastery, studying essential checkmates, pawn endgames, and precise calculation methods. You’ll gain the confidence to convert small advantages into wins and the skill to hold difficult positions against stronger opponents with composure.
