About Niall
I am a dedicated chess tutor with 3 years of experience helping students at all levels—from curious beginners to advanced players refining their strategy. Over the years, I’ve taught between 150 to 200 students, each with their own pace, goals, and learning styles. My teaching is rooted in personalized instruction that adapts to the unique strengths and needs of every learner. I place strong emphasis on building a solid foundation in tactics, opening principles, and strategic thinking. For intermediate and advanced students, I guide deeper into positional play, endgame mastery, and psychological aspects of competitive chess. My sessions are interactive and student-driven, fostering both critical thinking and confidence. I also help learners improve their focus, pattern recognition, and long-term planning skills. Many of my students have used chess as a way to sharpen their academic or cognitive abilities beyond the board. I'm known for my patient, supportive style and ability to simplify complex concepts. Every lesson is designed to be both engaging and meaningful. I believe the best progress happens when students enjoy the learning process. My goal is to help each student grow not just as a player, but as a thinker.

Alongside chess, I also offer support in related areas like logical reasoning, focus-building exercises, and strategic thinking. These skills translate well to academics and beyond.
