About Chelsea
I have been teaching chess for seven years, helping students from absolute beginners to tournament competitors. My background includes coaching in both group and individual settings, giving me the flexibility to adjust lessons to suit different ages, skill levels, and learning styles. Throughout my teaching journey, I have emphasized clarity, patience, and encouragement. Many of my students have successfully improved their ratings, gained confidence in competitive matches, and developed critical thinking skills that serve them not only in chess but in everyday life. For me, chess is more than a game; it is a way to sharpen the mind, build discipline, and encourage creativity. I am passionate about guiding learners to see beyond moves and pieces, helping them enjoy chess as both an art and a challenge.

My chess lessons begin with fundamentals such as piece movement, basic checkmates, and understanding the value of each piece. Beginners are guided step-by-step through simple tactics, opening principles, and key endgame patterns to ensure a strong foundation while keeping learning engaging and practical.
As students improve, lessons expand to include intermediate openings, tactical motifs like pins, forks, and skewers, as well as positional understanding. Learners practice through puzzles, guided analysis, and game review, building confidence in decision-making while gaining clarity on how to apply theory in real games.
For advanced players, lessons emphasize deeper opening preparation, middlegame planning, and complex endgames. Students refine calculation skills, strategic planning, and time management. Personalized training plans are created to target individual weaknesses, preparing learners for tournaments, online matches, or steady improvement in competitive play.
