About Qifan

Hi! I'm Qifan (启帆), a native Chinese speaker from China. I'm passionate about teaching my native language. I’ve helped students with daily Chinese conversation and HSK beginner levels. I love seeing students grow in confidence, and I make sure lessons are friendly, clear, and practical.

About the lesson

Teaching Approach and Methodology
I follow a student-centered approach, focusing on real-life conversations, cultural context, and interactive learning. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and interests, making learning Chinese enjoyable and effective.

Techniques and Teaching Style
I use visual aids, flashcards, daily dialogue practice, and role-plays to enhance student engagement. I place emphasis on pronunciation (Pinyin), basic grammar structures, and balanced development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Typical Length of a Lesson
Most lessons are 60 minutes long, but I can adjust the duration based on the student’s preference and focus areas.

Qualifications and Experience
I’m a native Chinese speaker from China, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Melbourne. I have experience teaching Chinese to non-native speakers, and I previously provided one-on-one private tutoring to a local student at a beginner level. The lessons focused on foundational Chinese communication, suitable for HSK Level 1–2 learners. This experience has helped me understand how to guide young learners step-by-step in a supportive and fun environment.

• Children or adults wanting to learn Chinese from scratch
• Anyone who simply wants to practice spoken Chinese for daily life, travel, or casual conversation

If you’re not focused on exams but just want to chat in Chinese, improve fluency, or learn useful phrases for shopping, food, travel, or meeting new people—I can help! I offer relaxed and engaging conversation sessions tailored to your needs.

HSK 1–2 Preparation
I also offer structured lessons to help you pass HSK 1 or 2. We will cover essential vocabulary, sentence patterns, listening comprehension, and speaking practice based on official HSK materials. I provide exercises and quizzes to track your progress and make sure you’re confident for the exam.
