About Shiva
In my high school journey, I reached the highest level of the USACO, the Platinum division. On the January 2021 contest, I finished top 10 in the USA. On Codeforces, an online competitive programming website, I achieved the rank of International Master, representing the top 0.3% of coders. Now I'm excited to compete on CMU's team for the Intercollegiate Programming Contest. In 2017, I appeared on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire: Whiz Kids Edition, winning a total of $300,000 on two separate appearances! To this day, I enjoy trivia, running, and playing poker with friends.

Since I've begun coaching students, my mission has always been to promote algorithmic thinking and instill a love for programming in young minds. The USA Computing Olympiad is the premier American contest for young programmers to demonstrate their skill with advanced data structures and algorithms. Lessons will consist of a combination of lecturing and active problem solving, where the student and I will work together to craft a solution to the USACO problem at hand. Along the way, students will pick up on valuable pattern recognition, implementation, and debugging skills vital to real world programming. My lessons are targeted towards high school students with a knack for programming, who are interested in pursuing the USA Computing Olympiad, and competitive programming in general, as a passion in high school and beyond.
