About Frances

I am Colombian but I did all my primary and secondary education in a US school in Colombia (13 years old) and at the end I got two degrees from the Baccalaureate: Colombian and American from The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). After, I lived 4 years in the United States where I studied university in theater, art and business administration. I live in Paris and I am a student of French language at the Sorbonne Nouvelle so I apologize for possible mistakes of spelling etc :) All my life I gave private lessons of English and Spanish to adults and to children, so I easily adapt to your age and needs. As a student in Paris I was an English teacher for children at the "Les Petits Bilingues" learning center and I continued to give private lessons to adults.

About the lesson

First, I propose to meet you to know each other. In this first appointment I will do an analysis of your learning style, your level of English, your language needs and your tastes in relation to literature and art I will create a specific program for you. * This first rancontre will be free Taking into account this initial interview I will make a program that will mix grammar, eavesdrops considered excercises of debate and discussions of everyday life and as activities to work writing. For our first day of classes I will show you the "lesson planning" which can be modified according to your learning pace. In any case it will give you an idea of your future evolution. This day we will start the program officially. At the level of written comprehension, I integrate art and universal literature in my courses so we will study American, English, French and Latin American writers. All in English of course, and adapted to your level. With this study material you will do different activities in writing for example: reports rendered, summarized, and argumentative tests according to your preferences. I must point out that I am passionate about art and literature and through the years I have found that it helps adult students to develop a more critical sense in the language studied. We will always have at least 15 minutes each session to correct and analyze your homework. After that, we will work on the new material and we will always have time to practice and discuss it. I am flexible and understanding, as a language student I am aware that much of the learning of a language is totally related to the psychological and emotional state of the person. That's why my philosophy as a teacher is to make you feel comfortable and help you work from your interests so that learning is a matter of fun and not stress.

In the last couple of sessions, I've also noticed she learns quickly and is able to grasp complex concepts easily.
