About Ava
I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Chemistry (Environmental Engineering) at UCSD and have 4 years of tutoring experience. I also work as a teaching assistant in undergraduate labs, guiding students through organic syntheses and environmental analyses. I hold an ACS Certified Laboratory Technician certification and am available weekday afternoons and weekend mornings. Outside tutoring, I volunteer at local sustainability workshops, teaching water quality testing to community members.

I provide comprehensive Chemistry and Environmental Science instruction—covering general Chemistry fundamentals (atomic structure, stoichiometry, thermodynamics) and advancing to Bio Chemistry (enzyme function, metabolic pathways) and Chemical Engineering principles (mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams). We use molecular visualization (Avogadro) and virtual lab simulations to explore reaction mechanisms. Practice problem sets align with AP, SAT II, and college exams, followed by in-depth conceptual discussions that highlight environmental applications—like water purification and renewable energy.
