About Charles
I’m a Computer Hardware Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in History. I have a strong academic background paired with real-world research experience, and I’m passionate about helping students grasp challenging technical concepts with clarity and confidence. Currently, I work with a research group focused on applying quantum computing models and parallel bit processing to cluster-configured FPGA hardware for use in computational photography. This work has deepened my knowledge of both hardware and computer science. As a tutor, I bring patience, adaptability, and real-world insight to every lesson. I know how frustrating it can be to tackle complex topics, and my goal is to create a supportive, engaging environment where you feel empowered to ask questions, make progress, and truly understand the material. Whether you're in high school or college, I’m here to help you succeed in math, engineering, or computer science.

My teaching style is interactive and student-centered. I always start by asking how you would approach a problem, which helps get you thinking and shows me your level of understanding. From there, we work together to identify what you’re doing right and what can be improved. My goal is to break things down clearly and provide real-world examples that make abstract concepts easier to understand.
For visual learners (like me), I love using diagrams, drawings, and written steps to explain ideas. My goal is to adapt each lesson to your learning style so you feel supported, not overwhelmed. I understand that learning new topics (especially in math, physics, or engineering) can be frustrating, so I keep the environment relaxed and judgment-free.
A typical lesson includes:
A quick assessment of your understanding of the material
Walking through your approach to a problem
Step-by-step explanations with examples
Practice together with guidance
Recap and goal setting
I tutor:
High school students in algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and physics
College students in electrical/computer engineering and introductory computer science
Whether you're stuck on a concept or just want to stay ahead, I’m here to help you succeed and feel confident in what you’re learning.
