About Ling Ling
I am a current graduate student accepted to Olga Kern's studio at the Manhattan School of Music on scholarship. With 6 years of teaching experience under my belt already, I have had experience teaching 30 students within the week ranging from beginner, intermediate to advanced levels. I have prepared students to complete the standard examination requirements of AMEB, ABRSM and Trinity boards. All my students have been incredibly happy with their quick and vast improvements, achieving results of high distinctions that have well exceeded their expectations. I have also had great success with students whom achieved scholarships to selective schools, conservatories and summer camps/programs as well as success in competitions and eisteddfods.

Open to all ages and experience levels, I spend my time building rapport and adapt to each and every student in order to understand their abilities, goals and potential. My philosophy lies in promoting personal growth and pushing boundaries comfortably so that students can be the best version of themselves. There is a focus on Russian fundamentals and training, musical emphasis on lyricism and legato. We will work together on listening to yourself and learn how to make evocations of mood, style and narrative. Theory and musicianship goes hand in hand with playing therefore I believe in a musical education with all these elements to assist in expressive playing. Additionally, I will help guide you to use correct form and posture behind relaxed and eased playing without tension. Exercises and supplemental tasks can be assigned for optimal results.
