About Annie
I have been teaching Algebra in Virginia for the past seven years at the high school and middle school level. I've earned the Novice Teacher of the Year award for my division in 2021 and have consistently performed above state average with my students' End Of Course Test pass rates.

As your tutor, I'm here to meet you where you are- what are you struggling with? I can work with you to reinforce and clarify the concepts you are learning in school, or help you fill in the gaps of lost learning. Or both!
A typical lesson with me will begin with a fundamental skill warm-up, include a bit of instruction and conversation about not only HOW to execute a concept, but WHY we're doing it, and conclude with practice.
I approach math as if I were a detective- no two crime scenes are the same, but we apply the same methodology to all. We use the clues provided to solve the mystery! My goal is to help all Algebra students think this way to promote problem-solving confidence.
