About Mia
As a future educator who has struggled with school in the past, I have gotten the opportunity to see what works for some students, and what works for others. I know what it is like to lose confidence in yourself in the classroom, and I want to eliminate this feeling for my future students. I've learned to apply my past struggles and learn from them to help benefit others, and most importantly, it has taught me how to be the best teacher I can be. I have helped many students in high school by tutoring them in math, as well as helping low-performing elementary school students in both math and science. I believe that succeeding in school has a lot to do with having confidence in yourself as a student, and I want to continue to help students gain this confidence that will motivate them to continue to strive to be the best version of themselves both inside and outside of the classroom.

I plan to provide different variations of the material I will be teaching to help accommodate students from all different backgrounds. My goal is to make learning exciting, while also teaching students how to have confidence in their own work. I want to incorporate different learning strategies into my lessons that would be specifically targeted towards students in kindergarten to 8th grade. I feel that it is important to develop strong teacher-learner relationships for students to succeed in the classroom, and therefore, I will set aside time for these teacher-learner relationships to grow with hopes to increase the motivation of my students.
