About Ariel
I am passionate about teaching and dedicated to helping young scholars reach their full potential. My experience working with students has shown me that being an educator is far more than delivering lectures and grading assignments-it's about forming meaningful relationships, inspiring confidence, and encouraging growth both inside and outside the classroom. I believe that every student deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported, and I strive to create an environment where they can thrive academically and personally. As I look forward to my future career as a middle school teacher, I am excited to continue making a positive impact in the lives of my students, helping them discover their strengths, and guiding them on their educational journey.

I know the struggles of lessons that feel more like lectures. It is my goal to truly learn my students; What are their interests, goals, learning styles? I like to start my lessons off with a clear agenda and a basic hook that gets their brains warmed up. Following the hook, I want my students to explore the topic of the lesson. In doing this, I am able to assess any prior knowledge and the depth of their cognitive thinking skills. I then include activities that are fun, engaging, and most importantly applicable to their daily lives. The one question students love to ask me is, "Ms. Johnson, when are we ever going to use _____?" Although most concepts are certainly applicable to either our everyday daily lives or future lives, it is also important to be honest with my students and tell them if this is not relatable to you, you are still learning a new skill. Lastly, I typically end my lessons with an informal assessment to see what they learned, and what we may need to revisit. Ultimately, my goal is to cultivate a learning environment where students' voices are heard and they are engaged throughout the lesson.
