My lessons use research-based approaches that create meaningful learning opportunities and provide students with strategies to support long-term academic success. My typical lesson plans begin with activating their prior knowledge and then teaching new content using the gradual release method and breaking down the content to support their learning. I will initially base my instruction on their teachers' approach to support the process their classroom instruction is based upon. However, if needed, I will provide additional strategies and support to break down the process to promote their comprehension. At the end of each lesson, I will record student progress and develop a next-step plan to continue supporting them. I can offer support for students K-8 in Math and English using personalized instruction tailored to their learning style and draws on their funds of knowledge to create meaningful learning opportunities.
