About Esther

Born and raised in Beijing, Esther Zhang began studying piano at age three. Her teachers were from The Central Conservatory of Music in China, the China Conservatory of Music, and Chopin Music University in Russia. Esther continued her studies as a pianist in Florida and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance. She won the gold medal and performed at the Pensacola Christian College Commencement Competition in Spring 2018, the Concerto Competition in Fall 2018, and the Commencement Competition in Spring 2019. She also participated in the Pensacola Music Teachers Association Sonata Contest, earning a silver medal in piano and a gold medal in accompanying a violinist in Spring 2020. She was actively involved in chamber music and various musical activities.

Esther received her Master of Music degree under the guidance of Max Levinson at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she was awarded the Half Tuition Scholarship. She is now pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance at the University of North Texas under Adam Wodnicki, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Her academic achievements have been recognized with the TGS Academic Achievement Scholarship, Porter-Evans Scholarship, and In-State Tuition Scholarship.

Esther has been a private piano teacher since 2013, delivering lessons in piano techniques, music theory, music history, and ear training. She has also served as the accompanist for Truth Baptist Church and its choir from 2005 to 2021 and as the choir conductor for Truth Baptist Academy’s high school choir. Currently, she is an accompanist at the University of North Texas and Victory Baptist Church in Denton, Texas.

Her awards include First Prize at the Ariano Piano Competition, the Silver Award from the World Piano Teachers Association of Finland, and recognition from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. She has performed in numerous recitals, including the Puerto Rico International Music Festival, and collaborated in chamber ensembles and duo performances with instrumentalists and vocalists.

Esther’s dedication to piano performance and education continues to shape her vibrant musical career.
