About Keanu
I am a Mathematics double major (Combinatorics and Optimization, Computational Mathematics) at the University of Waterloo, the top maths school in Canada (and I would say I'm decent at it). I aim to start a startup in software/hardware technology someday. I am an avid learner and reader, and I always love learning new things. My hobbies include programming, learning any interesting topic, reading, swimming, going to the gym.

I believe that learning is an art anyone can be comfortable with, and I aim not only to show you how to learn the subject, but how to learn any kind of subject. A typical lesson plan will involve me explaining the basics of the topic, while continuously asking the student to answer basic questions as the session goes on. I will also occasionally ask the student to explain the topic in their on words, and encourage them to be just a little bit uncomfortable and to try out new things, as this jumpstarts the deep learning process. If they are seeking answers to a homework question, I won't give them the answer or method directly; instead, I will slowly guide them towards finding the right answer. This teaches them to improve their own reasoning skills and increase their level of self-dependency in the future. I'm probably one of the few tutors who want you to graduate from me ASAP!
I am well-versed in a great variety of things, but I'm not afraid to learn or re-learn things that I may not be familiar with, so don't be afraid to ask. I can teach up to upper-year level mathematics and computer science, and I specialize in discrete optimization, scheduling theory and graph theory. I can also teach up to first-year physics. I also have extensive experience with professional and hobby software development of virtually all kinds, including machine learning, web development, hardware, etc.
