About Raghavan
With a Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degree in Literature, Speech, Discourse, and Francophone Studies from the University of Paris, as well as a PhD in the United States, my passion for the French language has been nurtured through years of academic study and teaching experience. As a native French speaker, I have taught French Language and Literature at Northwestern University, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of students aged 8 to 50. My student-focused methods are adaptable and designed to enhance linguistic skills, cultural understanding, and engagement within diverse communities. Through interactive activities and a communicative language teaching approach, I strive to create a supportive and effective learning environment where language learning is an interactive and meaningful experience. I believe in fostering an enthusiastic connection to French culture through interactive and meaningful experiences. By incorporating the ACTFL Five C's and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) principles, I focus on developing linguistic skills, cultural understanding, and engagement within diverse communities. Through role-playing scenarios and interactive activities, I help students build vocabulary and confidence in practical situations, ultimately enhancing their proficiency in real-life scenarios. My goal is to provide an inclusive, dynamic, and interactive learning environment that promotes authentic expression and cultural appreciation.
