About Hope
All students should have the opportunity to succeed in the classroom, and I am happy to help anyone who may need some extra help. I am always excited to see that “aha!” moment when the concept clicks and I know my work is helping people. In the past my tutoring has helped many students in the US and Canada not only pass their classes but actually exceed their own expectations. My passion is watching my peers succeed!

Teaching method and techniques: Lessons are personalized. Generally, I have helped students through homework or review problems using AP Questions, their own assignments from school, and questions I design to hone in on certain skills. I try to get to know each student well so I can understand how they are able to understand material best, and and I often provide resources for outside of our sessions, such as cheat sheets with a summary of the information learned or flash cards on programs like Quizlet. I make sure to find out what the student’s priorities are so we can focus on those together! I also have used memory games for students who learn by actions.
Typical lesson plan:
(1) Icebreaker question.
(2) Go over any homework or materials that the student needs. If there’s no homework, move to step three.
(3) Learn a concept: I use an art program so that I can draw out ideas visually. Usually I try to teach a concept that either the student is struggling with or one that will appear in their classes soon. I usually create my own practice problems for the student to solve here or find some other way to reinforce the concept.
(4) Memorize any formulas, terms, or other materials that they need using flash cards and review games.
This lesson plan is only a very basic outline of an average tutoring session but in the past my lessons have varied widely depending on the students’ needs!
Brief: I’m very flexible. I genuinely believe that any student is capable of success when given the correct tools, and I’m willing to find those tools for you. A student can be sure that their lessons will be built uniquely for them.
These lessons are best for high school students. Students in college- or high school-level calculus/precalc, statistics, or algebra-based courses will thrive.

Hope was a great tutor for me who was willing to put the time in to help. I left each lesson feeling more confident, and I am so glad I chose Hope as my tutor!
Hope is the best tutor I've ever come across! I had been struggling with precalculus and was sitting at a C. I had spent hundreds of hours trying to learn from YouTube but it was never consistent success until I found Hope. With her help I managed to achieve and maintain an A in precalculus along with a massive dose of confidence in my work.
Thank you, Hope!View more recommendations
