About Julia
Hi my name is Julia! I am a college student studying Earth & Space Science Teacher Education. This means that someday I want to teach high school science! I am passionate about several areas of science, which is why I majored in Earth & space education. :)
During high school I was a teacher's assistant in a fifth grade classroom for 2 years. I worked 1-on-1 & in small groups with students who needed additional reading, writing, & math help.
Then as a junior & senior I was a teacher's assistant in an eighth grade science classroom. My responsibilities included teaching lessons & over-seeing labs.
Currently I am a group fitness instructor at my university where I teach HIIT & total body strength classes two days a week. In this role I cue proper exercise form, educate my participants about fitness, motivate them, & create a welcoming atmosphere.

My goal is to help students understanding scientific principles & how they connect to our everyday lives!
As a future educator I have a passion for education. I love working with students & seeing their growth each session. My infectious positive attitude & love for what I do sets me apart from other tutors!
A typical lesson includes a 5 minute content overview of the previous session, 15 minutes of content (diagrams, videos, lecturing, etc.), 20 minutes of example problems, & 10 minutes of how the scientific principle is in the real world (usually in the form of demonstrations or videos).
My lessons are modified for students in elementary, middle, or high school. Every lesson is individualized based on the students needs, goals, and learning-style(s).
