About Sarah
Here is a little story to give you a glimpse of why I love what I do. The longest I have ever worked with a student was 12 years. When we met he was only 3. I had no idea what I was doing but his parents saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself! They hired me before I even got my education. When asked why they chose me they always said it was because their son liked me and they knew he was in good hands. They felt I could learn the academic side of things as we went. He was diagnosed with autism and grew up struggling socially and academically. After working very hard and giving his best effort during our tutoring times; I am very proud to say that he graduated with honours. When I congratulated him I told him how proud of him I was because he made that happen. He put in the effort and I was lucky to be able to give him the tools and time he needed to be successful!

Hi I’m Sarah! I am excited to meet you and get to know you a little bit better. Before I do that I would like to tell you a little bit about me. I knew I wanted to teach since grade 1. I was brought up in a home with a daycare in our house where my sisters and I used to argue on the bus over who got to hold which baby when we got home! Yes it’s silly but we enjoyed every minute of it! I love reading and baking as well as cycling and spending time with my family and friends. I believe that school work should be engaging and fun but focus on the individual learning goals of my students. Learning should be based on interests as well as curriculum goals and that lessons should be tailored to match different learning styles. I particularly enjoy teaching reading, writing, spelling and elementary math skills. I am also familiar with teaching programs suited for children with exceptionalities.
