About Joni

I taught for 31 years in Georgia elementary schools. I am now retired and have been tutoring for a two years. Over the years I have taught many students who are from foreign countries who have challenges with the English language.For 8 years I taught remedial math and reading and the students made so much progress that a number of them came up to grade level! Last year one of my reading students started with a 62 average, then moved up to an 82 by January, and ended up with an 88 by May!

About the lesson

My name is Joni Parks and I have 31 years of experience teaching elementary school. I have a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University and am still certified to teach grades Pre- K through 5 in all Georgia schools. I teach reading,math,writing,phonics,science, and social studies. I believe in the importance of teaching critical thinking , problem solving skills, and using concrete examples to promote student learning. I think that learning should be fun and I will strive to motivate your children to thrive!
