In a private art class, learners of ages 7 years old and up can explore the fascinating world of painting. Here are some details for such a class:

Mediums Covered:

Watercolour: Learn the delicate techniques of watercolor painting, from washes to layering.

Acrylic: Discover the versatility of acrylics, experimenting with texture and vibrant colors.

Oil Painting: Dive into the rich tradition of oil painting, exploring brushwork and blending.

Mixed Media: Delve into the wonder of mixing, experimentation, and creating something new.

Class Structure:

One-on-One Sessions: In-person within Winnipeg, MB, or via Zoom online. Each learner gets personalized attention.

Subject Choice: Learners can select any art project.

Techniques: We’ll focus on the basic introduction, composition, planning, and exploring techniques with the chosen medium (watercolor, acrylic, oil, or mixed media) to bring the artwork to life.

Explore painting techniques specific to watercolor, acrylic, and oil.

Supplies Needed:

Watercolour Painting Materials needed:

Watercolour paint (in a pan, tubes, or sticks)

Watercolour paper

Brushes of varying size or shape

Painter’s tape

Paint palette, or something to mix your paints on

Paper towel or cloth

Cup of Clean water

Acrylic Painting Materials Needed

Acrylic Paints

Brushes of varying size or shape

Canvas or a Painting Surface (Canvas Paper or Canvas on Frame)

Paint Palette or any flat surface for mixing paints

Cup of Clean water

Palette Knife

Paper Towels or Rags

An Easel (optional)

Oil Painting Materials Needed

Oil paints:

Brushes of varying size or shape

Canvas or a Painting Surface (Canvas Paper or Canvas on Frame)

Palette or any flat surface for mixing paints

Odorless solvent and linseed oil: Used to thin paints and clean brushes.

Paper towel for wiping brushes.

Optional materials:

Masking fluid/drawing gum, for whiting out areas

Pencil and eraser

Spray bottle, to keep your paper moist while working

Mixed Media is a combination of all mediums and incorporating some other techniques like collage.
