About KerrieAnn
I am an online ESL and creative writing teacher looking to help more students create excellent pieces. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in English. While working on this degree, I made extra money tutoring middle school and high school children in all types of creative writing as well as with select topics in academic English. For the past two years, I have been teaching creative writing classes on online and ESL classes, which provides practice with teaching phonics and literacy English skills to children. In total, I have been teaching English classes for 6 years. That said, I am so excited to start working with you and your work!

For teaching lessons, I typically teach through a PowerPoint for the first half of class and then use a writing exercise to practice the concepts we discuss. For tutoring, it depends on the piece students need help with. Normally, if it is an essay or story, I like to review the entire piece. I make comments directly on the piece to show the students exactly what areas they wrote well and what areas could be improved. Then, I talk with them about what writing elements they wrote well and which ones they could improve on or implement to create a stronger piece. I like to teach with lots of encouragement and kindness, while trying focused on how to improve our skills.
