About Jeff

I am the founder and head tutor here at AoPrep. I graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and previously worked as a litigation lawyer before dedicating my full-time career to LSAT tutoring. I scored in the 93rd percentile on the LSAT.

Having tutored the LSAT for four years, I've developed a highly effective tutoring curriculum that has helped numerous students improve their scores and gain admission to law schools across Canada. My students come from diverse backgrounds, including those managing test anxiety, ADHD, or for whom English is their second language.

I am not your stereotypical LSAT tutor with a genius-level IQ who aced the test with little effort. Having scored a very disappointing initial diagnostic, I had to learn the LSAT from the ground up.

That's why I know what it's like to work my way up — and help you improve, wherever you are.

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I started tutoring English writing and oral communications to middle school students in a classroom setting during the summer of my first-year undergrad and fell in love with teaching thereafter. I began tutoring the LSAT part-time in early 2021 and upon receiving very positive feedback from my students, I decided to take this full time. Thanks to amazing reviews from my students, my LSAT tutoring practice has exploded since then. I have discovered that teaching is indeed my God-given gift and passion.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

I'm most passionate about the logical intricacies of the LSAT and the process of essay writing. I loved doing logic puzzles since childhood.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

My favourite part of tutoring is seeing my students make tangible improvements and achieve their desired results, whether it is getting a 165+ on their LSAT or doing well on their essays. I am a highly results-oriented tutor and that makes me a "Superprof".
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

My role model teacher is my father who played an instrumental role in shaping my worldview since childhood. He is the most encouraging and patient man I know, and I strive to follow in his footsteps in my tutoring practice.
  • What are your keys to success?

Experience is king. I have accumulated over 1,000+ hours of instructional experience and have worked with all kinds of students, including those who have ADD and ADHD. I also have the unique ability to distill very complex concepts and communicate them in simple terms.
