About Karen
My name is Karen Woodall, however, my preferred name is "Kaz". I am a very young-at-heart mother to 8 mostly adult children and a Grandmother to 2 beautiful Granddaughters. I am currently studying for my Bachelor's degree, after successfully teaching and educating within the Distance Education sector for 21 years. I am very passionate about empowering others to learn and educate themselves, with an emphasis on fostering a genuine love and desire for learning and academic excellence within each individual. Every student is a potential fountain of knowledge and academic excellence! It is my endeavor to see YOU, see results!

Kaz Woodall is the Owner-Operator of Free Minds Education Alternatives in its early stage of launching. Using a Waldorf/Steiner Curriculum that encourages a holistic learning approach, and that engages with each child/student's unique Being, while strengthening their academic progress. * Individual Assessment included as FREE FIRST LESSON. Assessing academic level; individual learning style; and personal learning goals. * Maintaining Cultural & Social awareness unique to the student is of key importance. * Utilizing educational resources/curriculum that reflects the student's individual learning style, the student's tutoring needs will be tailor-made to create the best learning experience. * Using a strengths-based approach - the student can tap into their learning abilities, gain confidence in academic pursuits, and set personal goals by "commandeering" their own learning journey. Other approaches and techniques include: - Individual Learning Style recognition: * Kinesthetic * Auditory * Visual * Verbal etc. - Recognizing and Targeting core academic strengths and weaknesses. - Bridging lessons to fill learning 'gaps'. - General Academic program development. - State-approved curriculum - Phonetic and rote-based literacy resources. - Other Alternative Educational models include: *Montessori * Waldorf/Rudolf Steiner * Natural Learning * other methods. -Digital & IT resources relatable to student needs. Qualifications and Experience: - Currently engaged as a face-to-face consultant/tutor in Home Education and Distance Learning within my local NSW area. - Home/Distance Educator with 21 years experience in digital & remote education, as well as face-to-face teaching. - Mature mother to 8 children (14 - 29yrs) - Former Doula (12 yrs - practicing pregnancy & birthing support within the major hospitals in Brisbane Qld, Australia). - Coordinator for QLD home education families, responsible for producing and coordinating annual educational seminars, and group student workshops. - Currently studying Bachelor of Arts at digital TAFE, NSW. * The length of a typical lesson is 60mins. Longer lessons are capped at 2hrs. * Prep thru Primary (ages 5 - 12) * Parent-teacher support and consultations available
