About Madeleine
I am currently a Masters student at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, but I graduated from Cambridge in 2018 with a degree in Japanese Studies with a focus on literature. I have worked in education since then, and I’ve tutored for over 250 hours, receiving excellent feedback from former tutees.
I've taught the AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Cambridge International exam syllabi ranging across GCSE and A Level. Specific texts I've tutored include 1984, Animal Farm, Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, An Inspector Calls, Dracula and The Bloody Chamber. However, I am familiar with most of the texts common to the various exam boards.

I studied English to Advanced Higher (A2) level, before taking my literature skills forward in my undergraduate degree at Cambridge, where I focused on Japanese Literature. As a result, I am particularly strong with literary analysis, essay skills and language techniques.
I tailor each lesson to each individual student’s needs. I like to start by getting to know my student and their ability before introducing new material, and then back up each new piece of information learnt with quick (and fun!) tests.
