About Patricia
Hi, I’m Trish. At Blossom House SpLD School, I was extensively trained in many areas of special educational needs, particularly in supporting dyslexics, autistics and students with ADHD. Whilst there I supported kids as diverse as non-verbal three year olds and 17 year olds working towards their GCSEs. In my fourth and final year, I was in-house supply teacher covering the entire curriculum for the whole of the school. I spent 2012/2013 supporting SEN kids in mainstream settings.
Since 2014 Ive been a very successful one stop mobile SEN tuition shop in the Wimbledon area. Does little brother need help with his phonics, and big sister need help with her GCSEs ? No problem. We normally do maths but shes finding physics confusing this week ? Cool, we can do that. Mainstream brother is stuck on his algebra pass it over. Entrance exams ? I love NVR. I am very flexible and tend to become like a favourite auntie to my families, supporting with everything from behaviour to diet to study skills and memory tricks, even bedroom arrangements, puppy training and dealing with school. Im autistic, this is my thing and Im very good at it.
I can supply references for just about any combo of subject and age group I tutor. I cover KS1 dyscalculic maths, KS2 KS4 maths and all the sciences. I also offer literacy interventions for dyslexics through KS2. In addition Ive got quite a number of maths-phobic adults through their QTS numeracy exams.
I am not a qualified teacher but completed half a secondary Physics PGCE in 2006/2007 at the Institute of Education, prior to leaving for family reasons. I completed my first placement at Tiffin Boys in Kingston.
Ive undergone Unicorn Maths training in multi-sensory strategies. I was a familiar face on the London Ed Tech scene prior to the pandemic and am known to be an innovator in the use of educational apps in blended multi-sensory learning. Ive attended numerous SEN and Ed Tech seminars and have been asked to run my own. I have a pink iPad with well over a thousand (yes, thousand) educational apps on it. Your kid will be impressed. ;)

UPDATE 16th August, 2025 - I currently have spaces available for secondary aged students, both in person and online. I specialise in maths , biology, chemistry and physics through GCSE. All of my GCSE students last year achieved higher marks than predicted by their schools and are available as references.
I've been exclusively SEN-focused since 2007, when I started at Blossom House SpLD School. Since 2014 I've been working privately in the Wimbledon area providing holistic tuition and support to numerous families with a wide range of needs, from mainstream through complex and statemented. I'm an engineer and former research scientist who specialises in helping people who struggle to learn.
I have loads of fun cycling round leafy suburbs, playing games with kids and opening their eyes to the joy of logical thinking. I have the best job in the world. I just love figuring out the complex ones, they're usually the most satisfying to teach. Typically my students move up one or two sets within the first year of my working with them and eventually don't need me. That's what I consider success.
Please note, I really don't take mainstream students anymore. There are plenty of perfectly good tutors out there if what you need is fine tuning. I'm an interventionist, not someone you go to to raise a C to a B. I'm who you come to if nothing makes sense or sticks. Thanks for understanding.
DESPITE WHAT SUPERPROF INSIST ON STATING ON MY PROFILE, FIRST SESSIONS ARE NOT FREE
HOWEVER, I am willing to offer introductory sessions where you only pay if you decide you actually do want to continue working with me. If you don't, the session is free. I have a 100% track record of getting paid when offering this.
