About Renata
I am a professional violin player and strings educator with a diverse international career as a performer, private teacher, and mentor for music educators. I’ve worked privately, in colleges, community programs, and music festivals across several countries, and I bring a global, flexible perspective to each student or group I teach. I hold a Doctor's Degree in Music and have performed and taught in several states of Brasil, Argentina, United States, and Europe. My career includes positions with professional orchestras, faculty roles at musical social programs and universities, and the training of future music teachers—particularly in group string pedagogy and classroom strategies. I teach violin, viola, cello, and bass, and work with students of all levels, from young beginners to advanced musicians and current educators. My lessons are structured, personalized, and focused on helping each student grow with clarity, purpose, and confidence. I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French, and I enjoy connecting with students from all cultural and musical backgrounds. Now based in Pensacola, I’m excited to contribute to the local music scene and continue supporting musicians and educators in their journeys.

It is with great enthusiasm and unwavering confidence that I write this letter to recommend Renata Jaffé, a violinist, educator, psychologist, and Jungian therapist, whose work has profoundly impacted the landscape of collective music education in Brazil and beyond.
Renata Jaffé is the principal developer and disseminator of the Jaffé Method for Group String Instruction, a pioneering educational system originally created by her parents, Alberto Jaffé and Daisy de Luca. Having grown up immersed in a deeply musical and pedagogical environment, Professor Jaffé not only inherited the legacy of this method but elevated it through decades of dedication, experience, and innovation.
With nearly 30 years of experience, she has implemented this methodology in a wide range of settings—from public schools in underserved communities to prestigious international music festivals and cultural exchange programs. The Jaffé Method is singular in its ability to teach violin, viola, cello, and double bass simultaneously to groups of up to 45 students, even those with no prior musical experience. Under her guidance, students are able to perform publicly within just three months of instruction, without the need for at-home practice—testament to the method’s structure, efficiency, and engagement.
Renata’s leadership and pedagogical vision have directly shaped the musical and personal development of over 30,000 students across Brazil, Argentina, and the United States. Many of her former students have gone on to join leading orchestras or pursue careers in music education themselves. Her initiatives have produced dozens of youth string orchestras, including those that have performed internationally in cities such as Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, and at renowned venues like Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney World.
Beyond music, Renata has used the Jaffé Method as a tool for social transformation, empowering at-risk youth and contributing to the personal growth, citizenship, and cultural awareness of thousands of young people. Her work has been supported by government bodies, private institutions, and international partnerships, including with Berklee College of Music and the Instituto Pão de Açúcar, where she directed one of Brazil’s most successful corporate social responsibility programs for over two decades.
Renata is a visionary educator with a rare combination of artistic mastery, psychological insight, and organizational leadership. Her lifelong mission has been not only to teach music but to form responsible, inspired, and empowered individuals through the collective experience of orchestral learning. She now turns her attention to training the next generation of educators to carry this torch forward.
I recommend Professor Renata Jaffé without reservation. She is a transformative figure in music education and an unparalleled asset to any institution, project, or initiative that values excellence, innovation, and impact.
Renata is an excellent teacher! She comes from a family of musicians and is passionate about what she does. Beyond the technique, she really transmits this joy through the pleasure of music.
Professor Renata Jaffé is an exceptional string educator and violinist. She has taught and mentored hundreds of musicians who are now thriving in professional careers around the world. She was my first violin teacher, and she inspired me and delivered expert guidance. Her teaching is marked by clarity, energy, and deep understanding of technique and musical expression. I highly recommend her as a teacher for anyone looking for a knowledgeable, inspiring and dedicated teacher.
Prof. Renata was the most influential teacher I had during my teenage years! She's thoughtful, inspiring, and knows what you need to succeed playing not only the violin, but and string instrument. She's one of the most important music teacher of Brazil and we're lucky to have her living in the US. Don't miss the opportunity to study with her!
Renata was my very first music teacher, and I can confidently say that her influence helped shape the musician—and educator—I am today. Her teaching goes far beyond notes and technique.
What sets Renata apart is that she doesn’t just teach music—she lives it. Her passion for music is evident in every lesson, and she passes that enthusiasm on to her students. Whether working with beginners or advanced students, she brings the same level of care, excellence, and dedication.
Renata is the complete package: a teacher, mentor, and true artist who inspires not just better musicianship, but a deep love for music itself. I’m incredibly grateful for the foundation she gave me.Renata is the best strings teacher in the world. She’s caring cares for each one of her students! And she’s amazing! All her students are great!
Exceptional is the word that defines this teacher, not only of the musical arts. She not only prepared me as a musician, but also prepared me for the world, giving me the sensitivity and empathy necessary to be a good person and the basic principles of discipline and character to become a respected professional in the musical world. She not only prepares the student to play the instrument physically, but teaches us to have the courage to face the stage and auditions for orchestras. I am very grateful for everything she represented and represents to this day in my career.
Renata was responsible for the beginning of my cello training. Her great dedication was extremely important for my learning because, in addition to teaching, she sought to encourage and motivate students to overcome difficulties. In addition to being a teacher, she represents a great motivation for everyone who has the opportunity to meet her and take classes with her!
Renata is a very creative, insight full and sensitive person, which are essential credentials for a great teacher!
She has a lot of experience and grew up in a extraordinary musical environmental. She is a leading teacher with extensive experience with students of all ages. I strongly reccomend!I had the privilege of studying music with Renata from the age of 10 through 20, and I can confidently say she played a defining role in shaping not only my musical abilities, but also my career as a professional musician. Starting with no prior experience, I progressed under her guidance all the way to a college-level proficiency—I'm now a master's degree holder in music, and I owe much of that foundation to her.
Renata’s teaching method, originally developed by her father for group string instruction, is uniquely effective—especially for young learners. It's structured, yet deeply creative, allowing students to thrive in a supportive environment. She has an incredible gift for adapting her teaching style to match the needs of each student, ensuring that both fast and slow learners progress side-by-side in a way that feels inclusive and motivating for everyone.
She went far beyond just helping us prepare for performances—she organized them herself. Whether we were playing for a room of 10 or an audience of 7,000, every event she directed was a success. Her lessons were dynamic and engaging, filled with games, movement, and even dance, breaking down complex musical ideas into fun and manageable parts. Learning with her was never just about technique; it was about experiencing music with the whole body and soul.
What truly sets Renata apart is how she instilled flexibility, creativity, and depth into our musical interpretation. These qualities have stayed with me throughout my performing career. She never missed a lesson, was always punctual, and led by example—setting high standards for attendance, preparation, and commitment.
I wholeheartedly recommend Renata to any student of string instruments, from absolute beginners to advanced players. Her expertise spans from introducing basic concepts to coaching high-level repertoire with finesse.
One of my favorite memories was going on an international tour with the orchestra she directed. Performing abroad with friends under her leadership was an unforgettable experience—one of many she made possible through her dedication and passion.
