About Rolando

¡Hola! My name is Rolando Victoria, and I’m a native Spanish speaker from Mexico City with a passion for language, culture, and teaching. I have over 20 years of experience as a full-time Spanish teacher at independent schools in the Bay Area, and more than 15 years of tutoring students of all ages. I hold a Master’s in Educational Leadership, and my teaching approach is rooted in the Proficiency Model and aligned with ACTFL standards. I specialize in meeting learners where they are and guiding them toward their goals—whether that’s conversational fluency, academic success, AP Spanish prep, or reconnecting with their heritage language. I offer both in-person sessions in the Bay Area and online lessons for students across the U.S. My style is patient, supportive, and tailored to each learner’s unique pace and needs. ¡Hola! I’m Rolando Victoria, a full-time Spanish teacher with over 20 years of experience in the classroom. I’m originally from Mexico City and hold a Master’s in Educational Leadership. I specialize in working with learners of all ages and backgrounds, offering personalized instruction rooted in the Proficiency Model and guided by the ACTFL standards. My approach is learner-centered, meaning every session is tailored to your unique goals, strengths, and needs. Whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for the AP Spanish exam, or simply looking to build confidence in conversation, I meet students where they are and help them move forward with purpose. I focus on: -Communicative fluency over rote memorization -Real-world application of language -Targeted progress through ACTFL proficiency levels (Novice to Advanced) -Culturally rich, meaningful content to engage learners Together, we’ll build your Spanish skills step by step – in a way that feels authentic, motivating, and sustainable.
