About Georgia

I am a highly experienced piano educator with over 30 years of teaching across all levels — from complete beginners to advanced musicians. I offer lessons that are thoughtful, well-structured, and adapted to individual goals, whether you're aiming for serious musical development or simply wish to enjoy learning at your own pace.

My approach goes beyond surface-level teaching. While I always consider each student’s background and aspirations, I maintain a clear pedagogical framework that supports real progress and musical understanding. I don’t just adjust my methods — I guide each learner through a deeper process of discovery, technique, and expression, while keeping the experience engaging and meaningful.

I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK, am fully DBS checked, and have taught in primary, secondary, and independent education, as well as privately. Online lessons are available and are delivered with the same clarity and structure as in-person tuition.

Whether you're preparing for exams, returning to piano after a break, or learning for personal enjoyment, I’d be pleased to support you in your musical journey.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on building clarity, confidence, and genuine musical understanding. One of the most common challenges at any level is developing independence and fluency between the hands. My teaching approach directly addresses these areas through carefully structured methods that promote coordination, reading skills, and expressive playing.

Rather than relying on rote repetition, I break music into logical patterns and small, manageable units — a strategy that supports both accuracy and long-term learning. This approach is highly effective across all levels, helping students make real progress while staying engaged and motivated.

A key element of my teaching is the emphasis on musical structure. I encourage all students to understand the inner workings of each piece — its form, harmonic language, and melodic material. This analytical approach deepens interpretation and supports more confident, independent musicianship.

Lessons typically include technical development, repertoire, practice strategies, and listening skills. Whether preparing for exams or learning for personal enrichment, students receive the same level of attention to detail and musical integrity.
