About Mason
I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and a BA in Physics. My passion lies in working with students who are curious about condensed matter physics and materials science. I enjoy guiding learners through the fascinating world of solids and liquids at the fundamental level. In my lessons, I cover crystal structures and how they determine a material’s properties. We explore band theory to understand the behavior of electrons in metals, insulators, and semiconductors. I also introduce superconductivity, showing how materials can conduct electricity without resistance and the potential this holds for future technologies. Semiconductors are a key focus, and I link their physics to everyday applications like computers, smartphones, and solar cells. By connecting theory to real-world technology, I help students see the direct impact of what they learn. My teaching style blends clear explanations with practical examples, making complex concepts accessible. I believe physics is most exciting when it reveals the hidden patterns in the world around us. Together, we can unlock the secrets of materials and discover how they drive technological innovation.

My teaching approach in Physics is built around guiding students to understand and enjoy the process of scientific investigation. I focus on making complex concepts simple and connecting them to real-world applications. Alongside core physics topics, I teach experimental design, data analysis, error propagation, and scientific reporting for laboratory work. These skills help students not just solve problems, but also create and communicate their own findings effectively.
I believe learning physics should be hands-on and curiosity-driven. That’s why I encourage students to design experiments, test their ideas, and reflect on the results. We work on identifying potential sources of error and understanding their impact on data, which builds precision and critical thinking. I also guide them in writing clear, structured lab reports that meet scientific standards.
My lessons are gentle but purposeful. I take time to understand each learner’s pace and style, helping them develop their own unique approach to inquiry. Whether it’s a DIY experiment at home or a complex lab task, I support them in approaching it with confidence.
Together, we don’t just learn physics—we explore it, question it, and apply it. This way, students discover that conducting experiments can be as rewarding as finding the answers.
