About Felix

With over 11 years of experience teaching singing, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of students, from absolute beginners to advanced vocalists. Having taught more than 250 students throughout my career, I have developed a deep understanding of the nuances of vocal development and the importance of creating a personalized approach to each student. My teaching philosophy is built on the belief that every voice is unique, and every student deserves an approach that recognizes their individual vocal needs and musical aspirations. My lessons are grounded in a solid technical foundation, focusing on key aspects such as breath control, posture, vocal resonance, and pitch accuracy. I begin by ensuring that students understand how their vocal apparatus works, helping them sing in a way that is both healthy and effective. I prioritize vocal health and maintenance, teaching students the importance of proper warm-ups, hydration, and vocal rest to prevent strain and injury. As students progress, I work on expanding their vocal range and improving their ability to sing with clarity and power. Through targeted exercises and techniques, I guide students in developing a strong, flexible voice that allows them to sing across different styles, whether they are performing pop, rock, classical, jazz, or musical theater. I believe that vocal development should not only focus on technical proficiency but also on emotional expression. Singing is an art, and a true singer is one who can connect with the lyrics, communicate the emotions of the song, and move the listener. I teach students how to infuse their performances with emotion, helping them interpret lyrics, use dynamics effectively, and express themselves authentically. Alongside technique and emotional expression, I emphasize the importance of performance skills. I work with students on building stage presence, managing nerves, and performing with confidence, ensuring they can deliver their best performance in front of an audience. For students preparing for auditions, I provide specialized coaching that helps them refine their audition pieces and present themselves confidently. I also focus on music theory, ear training, and sight-reading, which I incorporate into my lessons to give students a well-rounded understanding of music. Over the years, many of my students have gone on to pursue professional careers in music, perform in local productions, and become confident, versatile performers. I take great pride in helping my students reach their full potential, whether they want to pursue music professionally or simply enjoy singing as a hobby. I am committed to creating a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel encouraged to explore their voices, take risks, and develop their talents.

About the lesson

Throughout my journey as a vocal coach over the past 11 years, I’ve seen how voice training can uplift, transform, and inspire. Singing is a form of expression that reaches beyond words, and I help my students access that expressive power through a balanced approach that includes technique, creativity, and self-discovery. My lessons begin with vocal assessments that help us identify current ability and shape a personalized learning path. We work on vocal alignment, breath support, tone placement, pitch accuracy, and relaxation of unnecessary muscular tension.

These early technical building blocks are crucial to unlocking vocal range, endurance, and control. As we move forward, we tackle more advanced concepts like mixing registers, vowel shaping, stylistic nuance, and interpretive phrasing. I’m a firm believer in the emotional core of every performance, and I guide students in drawing connections between themselves and the material they sing. Whether we are working on classical art songs, jazz ballads, pop tunes, or musical theatre numbers, we always explore the emotional truth of the music. Students also gain skills in performance technique—learning how to present themselves confidently, communicate visually and vocally with an audience, and recover from mistakes with poise.

I work with singers of all levels, from beginners to aspiring professionals, and across a wide variety of genres. Lessons are dynamic, flexible, and responsive to student progress. My ultimate aim is to help each singer build a voice that feels natural, expressive, and strong, while developing the independence and artistry to grow well beyond our time together.
