About Ilia

My Bachelor's degree was in Mathematics & Economics (with strong incline into quantitative side of the latter) under academic direction of London School of Economics. I tackled and successfully completed such courses as (number of semesters in parentheses): Linear Algebra (2), Calculus (5), Abstract Mathematics & Real Analysis (2), Statistics (4), Advanced Statistics (1), Regression Analysis / Econometrics (2)

And during my Master's study at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the courses I have completed with excellence so far include Advanced Mathematical Statistics, Advanced Regression Analysis and Statistical / Machine Learning.

During my undergraduate studies, I have also been a part of my department's evening school, teaching the following courses to high school students:
- Statistics and Probability Theory, 24 hrs total (2021/22)
- Linear Algebra, 18 hrs total (2020/21)
- Optimization Theory, 12 hrs total (2021/22)

Although not doing it much due to the lack of free time, I was also doing private tutoring during the 4th year of my Bachelor's, preparing 2nd year students to exams in subjects such as Multidimensional Calculus, Linear Algebra and Statistics.

About the lesson

- I teach Statistics & Probability Theory, Linear Algebra, Calculus and Mathematics in general for high school and college students or anyone interested in those subjects.
- My teaching revolves around breaking difficult topics to basics, using simple words and examples that a toddler could understand. If you don't have trouble memorizing stuff but lack real understanding of a subject, we would be able to make the most out of our partnership
- Our classes could be anything you like – in lecture, class discussion or mixed format, depending on what you need at each given moment. It's always nice to formulate what you want out of our lessons but if you don't really know, I will help you figure that out
- I do think homework is very important but be sure that if you choose me, you won't be bombarded with hour-long tedious and repetitive problems that make you lose all enthusiasm for learning
