About Binie
I’m a research scientist in Chemical Engineering at a Group of Eight university in Melbourne, working on clean energy and DNA-based nanotech. With a PhD in Chemistry and over six years as a researcher and educator, I’ve taught and collaborated across top Australian universities and industry. I’ve lectured in chemistry and chemical engineering in top Australian Universities, e.g., University of Melbourne and Monash University, and I bring 14+ years of tutoring experience. Teaching is my passion—I love engaging with students, breaking down complex science, and encouraging students to think critically. I grew up reading detective books, and I believe that knowledge and control over the process of elimination can help find answers to even the toughest of questions. Outside work, I enjoy playing video games, reading books, tending to my aquarium and playing cricket.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to learn more about me. :)

Education is more than just acquiring knowledge—it's about connecting learning to real-world applications and future careers. Chemistry plays a vital role in this by linking theory with practice, which is at the core of my expertise. I tailor my teaching to each student’s level and learning style, whether they’re in secondary school or university. My approach starts by finding common ground and understanding how each student thinks. I use a mix of clear explanations, interactive tools like AI and visualization software, and a strong focus on relevance to everyday life and career goals. My teaching is guided by four pillars: clear learning outcomes, simplified explanations, measurable progress, and real-world connections. I keep classes small (max four students) to ensure individual attention. My goal is not only to help students succeed in exams but also to boost their confidence, spark curiosity, and show how chemistry can solve real-world problems.
