I am a student working on the Bachelor's degree on Fine Art at Art Center College of Design. I entered as a Illustration student but changed to Fine Art to learn deeply about Art and Art histories. Before being an art student, I was majoring in animal science but I had desire to be an artist since I was kid. I just couldn't give up being an artist so I choose to be my dream job, artist! Therefore, If there is anyone who want to be an artist, I want to help! In my opinion, everyone can be an artist if you have a passion!
I will start teaching with basic of drawing and art theories then move on to the painting then sculpture and installation (and if you want, I can also teach digital arts using adobe programs or so). After covering basics of each art mediums, you and I can discuss which method of creating art you like, then we are going in depth with that method while still learning other methods and theories.
I value the creativity. I think techniques are easy to learn and creativity is the hardest. In the beginning, I don't want to block anyone's creativity over techniques. I don't want someone to change idea because he or she is not "technical" enough to create it! We are going to work on saving the creativity and learning the technique at the same time!
For materials, we are going to go over on the first meeting but here are the simple lists!
For drawing:
1. paper (anykind!)
2. pencil, pen, color pencil, marker (anything you want to draw with!)
For painting:
1. paper (thick paper so it doesn't warp a lot) or canvas, or any surface you want!
2. Paints (Acrylic or oil or watercolor or ink)
3. brush (cheap one or expansive one.. doesn't really matter!)
For digital art:
1. computer
2. art programs like photoshop, illustrator, indesign, comic studio
For the basic materials, I can also bring you to use :)
I have given lesson to beginners as a private art teacher. Some are elementary school kids, some are teenagers, and some are adults. For some adult, I helped with creating portfolio for the art colleges and they got in! other students were learning art as a hobby.
For creating portfolio for art college:
hourly: $40
5 hours: $190
10 hours: $380
monthly (3 hours per week): $450
I won a Santa Clarita City art contest when I was in high school.
I'm studying Fine Art Illustration focusing on paintings dealing with a concept of social rejection. I mainly use oil paint. And occasionally, I use acrylic paint and acrylic ink. I paint figures a lot. I was painting figures realistically before, but now, I'm painting them more abstractly with emphasizing certain parts of body parts or so. I love to explore with different kinds of colors to create different kinds of moods!
