About Zara
Hello! I’m an English tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing, with a strong foundation in Applied Linguistics. I specialize in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), helping students succeed in university settings and academic writing. My goal is to support learners in building the skills they need to thrive in higher education. I work closely with students on writing research papers, structuring arguments, and using proper academic referencing. I also help improve lecture comprehension and note-taking strategies, making learning smoother and more effective. Many of my students are international learners preparing for English-medium universities, and I understand the challenges they face. I focus on developing academic vocabulary, clarity in writing, and confidence in presenting ideas. Sessions are always structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s academic needs. I also teach how to read critically and respond thoughtfully to complex texts. With clear guidance and regular feedback, my students grow into independent, capable academic writers and thinkers. My teaching approach in English is creative, encouraging, and built around each student’s unique goals. I focus on helping learners feel confident in using English in real life, whether for personal growth, travel, or fun. I believe that language is a tool for expression, connection, and discovery.
I include vocabulary-building activities, interactive reading, and fun speaking tasks in every session. For learners interested in storytelling, we explore creative writing, poetry, and fiction-based learning. These tools help students express themselves with imagination and emotion, while also strengthening grammar and sentence structure.
I guide students in writing clearly and beautifully, from short stories to descriptive paragraphs. We work on rhythm, tone, and word choice to create writing that feels personal and powerful. I support learners who want to enjoy English without pressure—those who are curious, love reading, or want to use English while traveling.
Lessons are positive and relaxed, with plenty of space to try, explore, and grow. I also use visual aids, prompts, and real-world content to keep sessions fresh and inspiring.
