About John
I am currently pursuing both M.M-Flute Performance and M.A- Musicology degrees from the University of Missouri. I perform regularly with the University Philharmonic Orchestra and several other performances around Columbia. I am the current President of the MO Flute Society, and organization that aims to provide support, encouragement, engagement, and motivation for flutists across Mid-Missouri. My main research areas include flute history, pedagogy, and eco-critical music studies. I have won competitions with organizations like the National Flute Association, and continue to promote myself as an emerging artist. I've been teaching flute students for almost 7 years. No matter what age or experience level, I have helped many students accomplish their goals, and I am confident that I can bring encouragement, support, and enjoyment to your flute journey!

I strongly believe that, regardless of experience level, the most important qualities a student can possess are the willingness to learn and an ambition for the future. Focusing on developing a strong foundation, I like to prepare students for any musical challenge they may face. Whether it is auditioning for All-State Bands, or applying to prestigious conservatories- I have done it all and will help guide you on your path to success!
