About Nabil
Hello! My name is Nabil Kassam and I am a college sophomore based near Manhattan studying Finance at NYU Stern with a minor in music. Music has always helped me with self-expression and connecting others—these virtues guide me in my playing and teaching.
Having started formal piano lessons at the age of 5, and performing/competing over the past 14 years I now play collegiate-level music and have learned the ins and outs of the pianistic world.
Beyond piano, through taking relevant course work such as AP Music Theory and through coursework at NYU, I have learned the more technical aspects of music and how they apply to our everyday playing.
Having worked as a professional tutor/instructor across a variety of subjects with students ranging from 6-18 yrs of age (most notably in Math, SAT, and Piano), I have significant experience on teaching information effectively. Read more below on my teaching method.

Lessons are focused on 3 key tenants:
1. Developing theoretical understanding: learn scales, keys, and underlying fundamentals of music contributing to faster learning.
2. Technical development: Use of classical exercises from Hannon and Burgmuller will allow students to prepare for more advanced repertoire.
3. Repertoire: The majority of studies is centered around appropriate and enjoyable repertoire which is student-selected to allow for continued passion and growth.
