I learned that for one to get diversity, inclusion, and academic success I must have safeguarded classroom environment, consistent protocols and expectations, trauma informed-curriculum relevance, triangulation of data, and most importantly, proper social-emotional instruction. This has led me to use the academic spectrum and differentiation as some of the basis of my instruction, which has prompt me to advocate for all my students, so they do not fall through the trenches that prevent them to obtain the educational equity that they deserve.
