About Kim

In 2019, I graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a First Class Honours degree in Design in Animation. Last year, I was employed in a contract role as a full-time character designer, character layout artist, and animator with Kapow Pictures on Netflix's Adventure Beast.

About the lesson

As with many things, the best way to learn is to do! I will therefore take you through the entire process of designing a character for an animated project, from the initial research stage to iterations to the final model sheets.

By the end, you will have created a memorable character that is unique, exuding personality, and ready to be animated. You will have gained a valuable insight into the weird and wonderful world of professional character design!

Perfect! Kim is a wonderful teacher for my 12 year old. She is always on time and prepared with ability and age-appropriate resources and activities. Her sessions are interactive and engaging and my daughter is always inspired to practice and further her skills. Kim is really patient and would definitely recommend her!
