About Britney

I have both my Undergraduate degree in Business Administration and my Master of Arts in Teaching degree. I am a certified teacher in the state of Virginia for grades K-8. I have taught in Illinois, California and Virginia and have tutored several students throughout the years. I am reliable, caring, honest, dedicated and value great communication. I truly care about my students and their success. I went into this profession because I enjoy building confidence in aspiring learners and showing them that learning can be fun and engaging.

About the lesson

I have been teaching and tutoring for over 15 years and love helping students learn but also have fun doing it. We work on goals you have for your classes, what you feel your strengths and weaknesses are and talk about what makes you successful at being a good student. Typically, we incorporate lessons that coincide with your classroom work so it is relevant to what you are working on at school to build your confidence and boost your grades. I like to contact teachers and have open communication about how I can best help you throughout the school year. Each tutoring session can be set to your needs, I have plenty of supplemental materials but am also happy to review lessons, go over homework, study together, teach you new tricks or work ahead previewing material that is coming up. I am not only a teacher but also a mom with busy children so I understand that the need for a balance of being successful in school and having a life outside of academics is important.
