About Madeline
I was a writing center tutor for 3.5 years during my time at Kent State University where I worked with students with any proficiency, from any discipline, on any piece of writing they were concerned about. I worked between 10-20 hours a week throughout my years at the center and I worked with hundreds of students a semester. The student body I worked with was very diverse in that I worked with English Language Learners as well as native English speakers, starting from high school students in college classes to doctoral candidates in need of their thesis being reviewed.

I approach each session with a writer by assessing what their concerns are for their piece of writing and then focusing on their biggest concerns, given whatever time restraints we might have. I also point them to resources that they can use in between sessions.
