About Naomi
My teaching style is focused on each student's goals, needs, and learning style. I love every minute that I'm teaching! I received my bachelor's degree from Grove City College for Elementary and Special Education. I have recently taught third graders at Discovery Charter School and saw confidence grow and loved all of my students. I have also spent time as a linguistic au pair in Spain and working with a forest school for young children, as well as teaching English in Peru. My college teaching experiences include working in kindergarten, second grade science, kindergarten social studies, fourth and fifth grade reading learning support, individualized reading intervention, autism support, and much more! I also have a wide range of online teaching experiences throughout the pandemic. Since I was 10 years old my family has hosted international students, and I have loved getting to know them and helping them learn English!

My lessons are based on each student's needs, goals, personality, and learning style. Relationship building and getting to know you and your learning style is my primary priority, because I can only teach you if you're engaged and want to learn. We then start from and work with your prior knowledge and experience with English so that we can build up from there. I'll assess your current level and learn about your goals to guide my lessons. I prefer to present material through multiple means of representation: tactile, audio, and visual. I also frequently use songs, games, and various apps and sites to keep engagement high. I am flexible and adaptable, and am happy to adjust to your needs and change course based on what works for you.
My specialty is working with children from about 4-10 years old, but I'm happy to work with adults too!
