About Jaclyn

I am a fourth-year teacher with 7 years of education. I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in School Counseling. I use my school counseling degree to help me be a better teacher. Building rapport with my students is a priority for me. I believe that students thrive when they have a positive relationship with their teacher and when they recognize that their teacher genuinely cares for them as a person and not just as a student. I hope I can be that teacher for you! Each lesson will begin with a check-in/ice breaker to address social-emotional learning.

About the lesson

My lessons will be tailor made just for you and your needs. I do my best to make learning fun and engaging for all of my students. Initially, I will provide a pre-assessment to determine a student’s specific needs/deficits, as well as his/her strengths. A typical lesson would include an engaging video, direct instruction, and an I do, we do, you do approach to learning. You can expect to take pre-tests and post-tests in which we will track your learning progress. Together, we will build a learning portfolio.

Details

I typically offer one hour sessions for $50. It may seem like a lot to pay, but each lesson is made specifically for each of my students. This price ensures that I am paid for the time it takes to build my lessons, as well as the time it takes to teach them. I am available 1-2 times per week, depending on how many students I am tutoring. I can be flexible and make exceptions on how many hours I can tutor at once.
