About Thanushaa

I’m a PhD candidate at Monash University, accepted directly into the program without a Master’s due to my consistent academic excellence—scoring High Distinctions (85%+) in all statistics units during my undergraduate and Honors studies. I’m also a first author on a Q1 APA-affiliated journal publication. Over the past three years, I’ve worked as a research assistant at both Monash University and Sunway University, where my primary role was conducting statistical analyses across diverse research projects. I’ve worked with everything from basic regressions and ANOVAs to more advanced hierarchical linear regressions, mixed-model analyses, and qualitative data using NVivo. Statistics became such an integral part of my academic identity that I often joke—I quote stats more than pop culture! I’ve also taught undergraduate statistics at Victoria University, Melbourne, guiding second-year psychology students through the complexities of data analysis. With this background, I offer support from SPM level all the way up to PhD, whether you're trying to pass an exam or need expert help with the statistical components of your thesis or dissertation. My teaching is highly adaptive: I assess each student’s level, go through the syllabus or research question, and create a clear, step-by-step plan. I strive to make statistics logical, approachable, and—most importantly—empowering.

As a Graduate tutor and PhD candidate at Monash University, I bring both academic excellence and practical teaching experience to my tutoring. I was fast-tracked into a PhD without a Master’s due to my outstanding academic record, including High Distinctions (85%+) in all statistics units during my degree and Honors years. I also hold a Q1 publication in an APA-affiliated journal and have taught undergraduate statistics at Victoria University, Melbourne, where I worked as a Sessional Academic Tutor for second-year psychology students. My tutoring approach is student-centered and adaptive. In the first lesson, I assess your proficiency and go through the syllabus to customize our plan. I teach at a pace that suits you—focusing on Q&A-based learning, followed by homework assignments and review sessions to consolidate your understanding. For SPM to PhD-level students, I teach using various statistical software including SPSS, R, JASP, and more. For Master’s and PhD (research) students, I provide research-specific statistical tutoring—starting with understanding your research question, planning your statistical analyses, and guiding you step-by-step through data analysis in your chosen software. My goal is to not only help you understand statistics as a subject but also ensure the statistical integrity of your thesis or dissertation. Lessons typically run for 60–90 minutes, but I can adjust based on your learning goals. I tutor students of all ages and academic levels—from high school to doctoral candidates—whether you're new to statistics or working on advanced research.
