Hello, I am Mrs. Shaft and I love teaching!
My teaching style is I do, We do, and You do.
I teach you the math concepts by going through each of the steps with you.
Next, we do the steps together.
Last, you do the steps on your own. I will then give you an assessment to make sure that you have learned the math concept appropriately.
A typical lesson plan:
Teacher will introduce the objective of the lesson.
Teacher will give a written step by step example of the objective of the lesson.
Student will work with the teacher to work on the lesson objective together.
After student understands the concept, the teacher will give an assessment to ensure understanding.
What sets you apart as a tutor:
I like to have fun while teaching. I make sure that all concepts are being taught and assessed, but at the same time, I like to have fun and make tutoring enjoyable. Learning should be fun.
Who the lessons are for:
Kindergarten through 6th grade level.
I am currently an elementary education teacher for 4th grade, but I have taught and tutored many different age groups.
