Graduate of Northern School of Contemporary Dance and lecturer at Performers College Manchester, I am available for dance and movement tutoring. I am also a certified yoga teacher.

About Mary
I am an ex-professional contemporary dancer and now train performing artists at Performers College in Manchester. I’ve performed in works by contemporary choreographers Gareth Mole, Luke Brown, Becky Namgauds, Hofesh Schechter, Anthony Lo-Giudice, James Wilton, Mara Vivas and Lindy Nsingo, to name a few. I am passionate about empowering students and helping them tap into their individuality, which I believe to be one of the most crucial elements to being a successful artist.

My lessons cover the fundamentals of contemporary dance. Beginning with warming up the body with strength and endurance exercises, the class will cover the physical relationship to the floor and how to expand and contract the body. Improvisation is also utilised. I respond to what the student needs to work on specifically and tailor my classes according to what the student needs in order to help them reach their potential and access the demanding and flexible nature of the dance industry. This could be regarding strength, flexibility, shifting through the space and confidence in their own creativity, to name a few.
