About Charles
I'm a current Masters student at West Virginia University. Last fall(first semester in grad school) I was the instructor for a section of MATH 156 Calculus 2. I was the only masters student in the department of mathematics to teach my own section. I'm pursuing my M.S. in pure mathematics. I've tutored all levels of math from K-12, college (all class from algebra to abstract algebra and real analysis), and I've lead various study sessions for my grad Topology classes. I've won several tutoring awards from Bridge Valley Community and Technical college, as well as WVU Tech. The aforementioned WVU Tech is where I recieved my B.S in Mathematics in Spring 2018.

I base my classes, and hence my tutoring sessions, on the background and strength of the student(s). Whether I'm 1 on 1 with a 9th grade Algebra student, or explaining theoretical ideas from Linear Algebra, I employ active learning strategies for the student(s). For example, I may ask a student to communicate with other students in the classroom, or ask a student to give me a counterexample explaining why a certain mathematical idea isn't valid in a particular case. I'm constantly thinking of new ways to make mathematics interesting and fun! Although I want to be a research mathematician, I'm an educator at heart. I'm currently a GTA for an emerging scholars program section of Calculus 2 at WVU. Due to this, I will be unable to schedule anything until May 6th
