About Tomás
As a person who was only recently diagnosed with ADHD, I know what it's like to struggle at school (and university). I also know what it's like to not know what you want to study at university until the last moment when you are "forced" to make a decision. During my adult life, I took advantage of opportunities to work abroad and volunteer with young people. Now, my goal is to be a teacher and make sure that young people have a holistic education to become wise adults.
My communication with children/adolescents is based on respect; My focus is on listening to what they have to say, so I can understand the reasons behind their (in)actions and develop an appropriate improvement plan.

My MO is to make the subjects not only understandable, but also interesting, highlighting aspects often not mentioned in classes. I communicate with students using an appropriate language, "translating" the complicated Portuguese or English of the manuals. I use images/graphs and objects to make learning more visual, which facilitates understanding.
My classes are aimed at young people in the 2nd and 3rd cycles of Basic and Secondary Education who have difficulty understanding the subjects or who need to improve their grades in assessments.
