About Sophie
I first started a Bachelor in English and foreign literature, that I finished in the National University of Ireland in Galway (NUIG). After this Erasmus experience, I stayed in Ireland for 2 more years, where I eventually graduated from a Master in History in University College Cork (UCC), specializing in US History. My experience at University allowed me to acquire a fluency in Oral and Academic English, but also to deepen my knowledge of various English-speaking cultures. My students can also benefit from my training in literature and History, if they need support for subjects other than English.
Since High School, I developed a passion for teaching, through mentoring and coaching experiences. I often worked with children and teenagers in parallel to my studies, in both professional and volunteering settings. The TEFL course also gave me the opportunity to improve my teaching techniques.

The optimum conditions of one-to-one and small group lessons allow me to adapt my content to the student's needs and interests, and to support my student in achieving professional or academic goals. Alongside traditional teaching (Oral and written expression and comprehension, translation...) I aim to integrate cultural media, and empahsize on the interactive aspect of learning a language. I can also focus on questions of methodology and work organization if need be.
