1.- My teaching method and techniques. - Simplified Explanations: Breaking down complex concepts into digestible parts using straightforward explanations and examples. - Interactive Problem Solving: I emphasize working problems interactively, walking through each step to help students understand both the process and the logic behind it. - Visualization and Tools. I use graphs, diagrams and introduce some software like GEOGEBRA or DESMOS, to make abstract concepts more tangible. - Focusing on the Fundamentals: I identify gaps in foundational knowledge and work to solidify these basics before moving forward to advanced topics. - Critical Thinking Development: I teach students not just how to solve problems but how to think critically about mathematical concepts, enabling them to approach problems with confidence and creativity. - Adaptability: Each student learns differently. I adjust my teaching style, pace and approach based on their individual needs and goals. 2.- A typical lesson plan. - Warm-up (5-10 minutes): Start with a quick review of the previous lesson or a mental math challenge and discuss any difficulties the students may have faced doing their homework or previous concepts and fundamentals. - Concept Introduction (15 - 20 minutes): Introduce the new topic in a clear and structured way and use relatable analogies and examples to visualize the concept. - Guided Practice (20-30 minutes): Solve a few problems with the students going step by step approach, encouraging them to explain their thought process to ensure understanding. - Independent practice time (10 - 20 minutes) Prepare the student to solve problems independently, and ask questions, focusing on applying the new and old concepts learned to the different types of problems. -Class topic review: Summarize the key points of the lesson and emphasize the common mistakes to avoid. Assign homework and explain how the students should approach it and some tips if they will see any challenge problem. 3.- What sets me apart as a mathematics tutor: - Clarity and patience: I excel in breaking down complex ideas into simple, clear steps, ensuring the students understand each step of the process. Be patient and listen to the student questions to find the best approach to help them understand each topic. - Real life applications: This is the most joyful time to bring mathematical concepts to real life. This is one of the best tools to help the students understand the reason behind the subjects. - Encouraging Growth Mindset: Confidence is what I need to help build on each student. We celebrate small victories and help understand how they can learn from their mistakes. - Personalize learning strategies: I create a plan tailored to students focusing on their strengths, weaknesses and goals. Understanding what is the task ahead like exams, advanced topics or just build their confidence. 3.- Who the lessons are for: - Educational Levels: Middle School to high school (6-12) studying foundational to advanced mathematics. College students tackling calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, or statistics. - Class types: One-on-one or group sessions. Intensive sessions for exam preparations (e.g. SAT, ACT, GRE etc..) Specific Needs: Students struggling with basic math skills or math anxiety; Advanced learners seeking challenges or preparation for competitions (e.g. Math Olympiad); Professionals need math skills for work or further education.
